:: David Chesworth at Spiegeltent ::

David Chesworth Ensemble make an appearance in The Famous Spiegeltent (the Arts Centre Forecourt, 100 St Kilda Rd) on Wednesday October 12th at 7pm. If you've seen the ensemble before you'll not want to miss seeing and hearing them in the glorious surrounds of the ST and, if you haven't, this is a great way to get acquainted with DCE's music whilst sipping Belgian beer and soaking up the atmosphere.
David, Robert Goodge and Graham Lee as Essendon Airport will be supporting Tenniscoats from Japan at the Northcote Social Club on Thursday 20th October. We'd love to see you there.

:: New Releases ::

It's been a while between drinks but we actually have a couple of records (three if you count a double as two) coming out on July 25th. It's a big swag of David Chesworth music - Music To See Through (brand new tunes featuring the David Chesworth Ensemble with Lisa Miller and Robert Forster on vocals on some tracks) coupled with Disk Of Idioms, a very accessible and rivetting collection of more experimental pieces; and the long awaited re-release of the seminal 50 Synthesizer Greats, until now only available on vinyl at $150 or so on eBay. Follow the links on the left for more info.

:: Cosmonaut on ABC Classic FM ::

You can hear the entire Cosmonaut opera on ABC Classic FM at 8pm Monday, 18th April. I've heard bits of this recording and it's sensational. Don't miss it.

:: New Server ::

You may not have noticed but the site is now on a new server. News has been off the air for a little while, as has the sporadic mailout from W. Minc. All should be smooth(ish) sailing from now. Thanks.

:: Cosmonaut ::

David Chesworth's opera Cosmonaut will be broadcast on ABC Radio National this Saturday, 29th January at 5pm and repeated on Monday 1st February at 5am. So take your pick. Well worth a listen.
Sorry - my mistake, but it's still worth a listen. This show is a conversation with Maggie Iaquinto, a ham radio operator whose real life story matches that of David's character, Angela, in Cosmonaut. A broadcast of the opera will go to air on Classic FM's In Performance on 18th April 8pm.

:: New Audio ::

A couple of new tracks just added to the audio section. Enjoy.
If you're not checking out the forums page do so as there are some interesting discussions going on in 2005.
Oh, happy new year and all that as well.

:: Mia Schoen - artist/musician/glossy magazine fixture ::

Mia Schoen of New Estate features in the Watch This Face section in this month's The Age (Melbourne) Magazine - a very glossy affair indeed. Mia gives some balance to the shiney young things and expensive watches that litter its pages with a report of her recent award - the $10,000 Wallara Travelling Scholarship for her New Estate paintings. They're not of the band, by the way, but of new estates such as the one that features on the cover of the band's current CD, Considering...
Mia's off to California and Arizona next year to look at new estates in the flatlands. She hopes to bring the band along too. If all this intrigues you and you'd like to get in at the ground floor, dig through this site to find out more. If you go to the Tangents website you can find an article by Shane Moritz about life on the road with New Estate.

:: New pics - In The Pines ::

I've added some shots of the In The Pines recording sessions to the galleries pages. Hope you like them.
